| Fujairah Airport
Fujairah airport is around 1½ hours from Dubai and is one of the up and coming Emirates. With both a passenger terminal and freight hub the airport has been growing in traffic year on year. New investment meant the ageing infrastructure was upgraded with the latest communications and radar equipment. As part of this work Thinking Space was recommended to the engineers as a key partner.
A new ergonomic approach radar console was built into the existing room with capacity for growth as well as housing both old and new equipment.
The current equipment had to be replaced and upgraded while keeping the airport open. The engineers wanted a high quality, flexible solution so the console could be easily altered as more investment was made available . The new console included additional power distribution and both low and high level lighting finished off by back lit map display boards.
The design was supported by full CAD design and the use of 3D rendered images gave the client a real indication of the solution before the build was started. Installation was carried out by Thinking Space staff on-site whilst local engineers were trained on how to make changes and adjustments to the console in the future.
