Our race for Lexie

 In Blog

Ten of us are currently in training; in preparation for this years’ Romsey Relay Marathon, being held on 19th April at Broadlands.
After the success of last year, where we raised nearly £800 for Victim Support, Team Captain Neil is gathering together his team once again in what we hope will be another great event.
This year, our team name is “Ten Novus” in support of Novus who have sponsored us with shirts. Our chosen charity is one which is very close to our hearts, as we are looking to help improve the quality of life of 7 year old Lexie.
Lexie Cooper-Barnes is the daughter of a former colleague for some of the crew here. She was diagnosed with quadriplegic athetoid cerebral palsy when she was just 11 months old.  She is now 7, nearly 8 and fully reliant on others to do all day to day tasks.
She uses a computer to communicate which is controlled by eye gaze. Our fundraising efforts will be to contribute towards the software and accessories that can enable her to control her home environment such as lights, the TV, DVD and CD players etc using eye gaze.
We want to help Lexie gain a little more much wanted independence. So please help us by donating to our cause, you can visit our justgiving page, or text donate to NOVU50 to 70070.
