Our marathon of a day
Sunday saw our team “Ten Novus” participate in the Romsey Relay Marathon. We were all looking forward to the event, having worked hard at training for the 2.6 mile lap each, and achieving well over our target for our chosen charity, Lexie Cooper-Barnes.
Led by our team captain Neil, the day was bright, sunny, if a bit on the nippy side. But the feel-good factor was prevalent throughout. As one of sixty teams taking part, from local businesses and charities to running clubs and schools, there was a buzz of excitement surrounding the whole event.
Our team started well, with our first leg Tom putting us forth in the race. We continued to give it our all, with a “special guest” appearance by our charity, Lexie and her parents, giving us an extra boost. There were some strange lap celebrations taking hold, as well as a photo finish from Sam to complete the race.
Thank you to everyone who turned out to see us race, who supported us by donating to our cause, and in spreading word about the event. We had a great day out and our fundraising is still continuing. The more we raise, the more we can help towards the software Lexie needs to be able to control her environment.
