Arrêt in France…

After arriving in Caen Thursday afternoon, our ATM road trippers undertook a 5 hour drive to La Rochelle, where they spent the night at the Hotel Saint-Nicolas.  The next morning, France really took its hold on the pair as they grabbed a cheeky breakfast coffee in Cognac, which was the reward for the drive so far in particularly bad driving conditions due to torrential rain. With the weather not improving during the day, their bad luck continued as a frantic search for a petrol station was necessary after the fuel gauge on the van got down to 2 miles, a little too close for comfort!

Next stop was Bourg-de-Visa, their rest day in preparation for the remaining journey and the upcoming exhibition preparations.  Staying with customers who are now our good friends, a wonderful cheesecake made by their host was a welcome delight.  Their rest day also included a visit to the local vineyard of Chateau Eugenie, where no doubt some wine testing was experienced...when in France…
