Lee completes the Australian Outback Half Marathon

Saturday 30th July saw our Managing Director of Thinking Space Systems Pty Ltd, Lee Evans, head north of Ayers Rock. His mission? To compete in the Australian Outback half marathon. And what a result!  Lee successfully completed this predominantly off-road event in a time of two hours, six minutes and four seconds.

This race is popular with local runners, but for most, it’s a once in a lifetime experience. It’s not every day marathoners get to take in the stunning views of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) as the kilometres tick by.

Most of the course features unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft-sand trails, surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are a couple of inclines and sand dunes to negotiate, and plenty of Australia’s famed “Red Earth” thrown in for good measure.

Lee plans to  return next year to improve on his performance. Well done Lee!
