Brand New Furniture at Jane Scarth House
Thinking Space have recently completed the installation of brand new furniture at Jane Scarth House, their chosen charity of the year. After announcing their support to the charity back in February, a series of fundraising events has ensued, currently raising over £650 so far, with more events planned in the autumn.
But staff were also keen to commit their time to the charity as well as fundraising, and the perfect opportunity arose when the charity announced back in March that they were moving into new larger premises nearby, and desperately needed volunteers and materials to kit it out with.
So, doing what Thinking Space do best, the company volunteered materials and labour to create two desks for the centre, which looks after those living with and affected by cancer. Forming a charity team to work on the project, Matt Hockham, Wayne Palmer, Connor Kester and Nigel Brookes set to work to design and create furniture for the new centre and all within their own free time. Last Friday saw the final completion of the desks and assembly into their respective environments. A reception desk has been installed in the main befriending area, and a separate L-shaped console neatly fitting within the consultation room.
The new centre is opening today for business, the 22nd August, with an official opening ceremony on Sunday 1st October, with Countess Mountbatten of Burma as the guest of honor.
