Last week, we said a fond farewell to Design Draughtsperson Antonio, who is leaving us to go travelling…Adios Antonio!
To mark the occasion, sixteen of us headed out after work one Friday night and enjoyed a delicious Thai meal with a few drinks in our local, in Romsey. Finally, on Antonios’ last day with us, and in the UK, we gave him a send-off with a big thank you for his contribution to the company. Antonio provided the cake…our favourite, chocolate, of course.
Antonio joined us in May 2015 and has left a legacy of great designs and interesting initiatives for us to remember him by.
So, here’s a quick round up of Antonio’s legacy:
The Man Behind the Desk
When Antonio joined us, he spent some time in the factory learning how to manufacture consoles. One of his first tasks was to design the new demonstration console for exhibitions. The height adjustable console is still in use, currently being shipped out to Intersec Dubai for the event in January.
Antonio was the instigator in forming “The Quadrangle” five-a-side football team, which he captained before handing over the reins to the current Captain, Patrick.
Antonio led a team of table tennis enthusiasts to create a bespoke table tennis table from an old worktop, with offcuts of cladding for bats. Then in June, the make-shift solution was replaced with the real thing…a brand new table tennis table, complete with bats!
Antonio competed for the accolade “TSS Baker of the Year” in this years’ Bake-Off competition, with a bat-shaped strawberry cheesecake.
Antonio was awarded the prize of being the quickest to complete a speed modelling competition, with a record-breaking 40 seconds.
Ever the sporting enthusiast Antonio has taken part in the Romsey Relay Marathons, where we raised funds for Romsey Young Carers and Jane Scarth House
Antonio joined five others for the Movember challenge in 2016.
Antonio received our Employee of the Month Award in March 2017 for stepping up to support other team members who were on leave.
