A week of work experience

 In Blog

As the Easter holidays loomed, two local pupils from Mountbatten School continued setting their alarms, as they joined us for a week of work experience.

We were delighted to welcome Year 10 pupils Max Gibbs and Daleep Birl to Thinking Space, who began their work experience placement in our Sales and Marketing department.  Their first task was to collate literature supplies, before creating a powerpoint presentation of the latest company news for all the staff to enjoy.

Over the rest of the week, each were given time in the design department and on the factory floor, learning about furniture design and manufacturing principles. Both were tasked with designing and making their own coffee table. Using AutoCad they created a manufacturing drawing, before being given the materials and tools to put the coffee table together using our aluminium build system.

We hope both enjoyed their time here at Thinking Space, learning some valuable skills as well as a positive work ethic, and we wish them all the best in their future career paths.
