Spooky Events at Thinking Space

 In Blog

Last week, we saw some spooky events at Thinking Space, when we joined in the Halloween fun with a spot of fundraising.

Staff were tasked with dressing for the occasion, and didn’t we see some fantastic results! Getting into the spirit of the occasion, we had clowns, skeletons, monsters and even Teen Wolf! Being the creative bunch that we are, we also held a pumpkin carving competition, to see who could create the best carving. We even held a light-up ceremony to see them in all their glory.

No celebration here is ever complete without a spot of cake. Rising to the challenge, Connor and Darren brought in some themed cakes to sell, which went down a storm.

With two competitions taking place, we had to have a winner for each. After we opened the judging up to all staff and social media, the votes were counted and verified…

It was down to Connor to announce the winners, and here they are…but who were they?

Pennywise the clown was none other than our Design Manager Alastair. I think a few of us are still having nightmares over his outfit, and we marvelled at how he kept his balloon floating all day! With the creative juices flowing from our Kanya Operations Manager James, his Donald Trump-Kin Pumpkin took first prize.

All of this was of course to raise funds for our chosen charity of the year, Rose Road.

And what a success it was!

At the latest count, we have raised over £100 for the charity at our Halloween events.

Not included in the total was the fundraising we held earlier in the week, when we held our TSS Bake-Off final. Our winner Neil created a fabulous cake with homemade roses sculpted from fondant icing.

But it is not too late to donate, as our Rose Road Justgiving page is available to make a donation. We are looking to help fund essential communication equipment for the children  they support and every little helps us reach our goal.
